The Hunger Games Catching Fire

Okay, so this may have nothing to do with poems, but I just had to share it...
Today, or precisely tonight, I had the experience of a lifetime...
And it all happened at, wait for it, IMAX!
Yes, the premiere of The Hunger Games Catching Fire, the second sequel to the series.

Hats off to the whole crew of the movie because it was simply, spectacular!

And hats off to 98.4 Capital FM too for the party!

Oh, hats off to Safaricom Kenya too for the free 1.5 GB data bundle and airtime  worth Ksh 1000...

I sure was part of the experience thanks to IMAX!

Those of you haven't caught the movie yet, you better! Now to begin the countdown to the third sequel of the series The Hunger Games Mockingjay which is most likely next year at a time like this!

Oh, and even if you've read the book, the movie is a must watch!

Once again, hats off The Hunger Games crew. You've outdone yourself once again!

...Of Singing...

So my friends keep telling me how I can't sing.
Well, that's kinda true...
So there's this one time I tried singing and damn was it a disaster!
But then, I got to doing what I do at such times, writing about it!

I Can't Sing, Not Even A Bit!

I love music, I love it, just as I love meat,
But unfortunately, one thing that'll make me quit,
Is I can't sing, not even a bit,
But when I hear a beat, it brings me to my feet!

My singing voice is terrible, that I admit,
But how dare you, a whole you, to me cheat?
That my voice is to you is 'Oh, so sweet'?
Try using some wit!

Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, give me the heat,
Owl City, Maroon 5, I want to meet,
But won't they throw me in a pit?
'Cause according to them I'd rather sit and knit?

I can't sing, not even a bit, that I admit,
But my music I will dare not delete,
I'd rather a whole week not eat,
And get my naughty voice whipped to be sweet!

This terrible voice I will vomit,
And behold I will have a new spirit,
No longer will my voice be illicit,
But will be as sweet as a biscuit!

I can't sing, not even a bit, that I repeat,
But my voice will improve bit by bit,
My throat that high note will hit,
And at that point, my soul will be like the morning sky, lit!

...Hugs From Afar...

Ever been away from home and called that one person that you just never want to stop talking to?
Know how it feels talking to 'that' person?
Ever felt that hug from afar?

Well, keep it locked on Walt The Poet...

Of Birthday Wishes and Feeling Loved...

So there was this one time I got a birthday wish from someone...
I felt so loved...
Check it out...
And it was done in the best way it could be done, poetically...

Yes you have trodden the long path,
Sixteen years of life's cruel wrath,
It all seems like just the other day,
When we'd sit and watch you play.

I guess age is just a number,
You're now older but not put to slumber,
One thing my dear I know for sure,
Yours is a bright future if your mind stays pure.

                                                      Growth comes along with responsibility,
                                                      Maturity, Beauty and Ability,
Able to achieve what your mind conceives,
                                                      Or follow what excitement deceives.

                                                      Whichever way things go,
Always know I love you so,
I won't judge you when you fall,
But be here through it all.

At this point I must proudly say,
To you I wish a happy birthday!

HAHAHA!

So, here's what I wrote...

HAHAHA!

When life is rough
And you've had enough
When life is rough
And you want to take a puff
When life is rough
And you're hanging tough
When life is rough,
Release the turf,
Drop the handcuff,
And come on just laugh!

Of Uncontrollable Laughter...

So my friends keep telling me how I laugh at the oddest and weirdest of times and places...
But you gotta agree with me that the laughter in class has just got to be the best, that muffled up laughter where you hide yourself under your desk and try fighting it up and all, yeah?
HAHAHAHAHA!

But one time I thought about it and...
Yep! I wrote about it...

A Drowsy Session

ZzZzZzZzZz...
Okay, so there was this one time I was in class and the teacher was so dull that I couldn't help myself but write about it. After all, poetry gives solace at all times... Haha!

 A Drowsy Session

Drowsy, her lessons a lullaby
Can't wait to bid her goodbye
It's the truth, why should I lie?
I hate her sessions, on her I can't rely!
Right now, she sits in front, her head held up high
As I stare out of the window nigh
So interesting suddenly became the sky!

Caught Up and Lost in Poetry...
Hey people!
I know it's been long...
But keep it here for some work which has been underway...

Stay tuned...
